Profile
Welcome, and thank you for visiting.
My name is Mayumi Asato, and I run Hanu Ola, a private home salon nestled in a quiet residential area of Onna Village, Okinawa.
Drawing from the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine, I offer personalized treatments that blend Tui Na massage, Gua Sha, meridian therapy, and herbal aroma oils.
My practice is dedicated to supporting women in midlife especially those navigating menopause or chronic discomfort by gently restoring balance through the healing power of nature and the warmth of human touch.
Now in my 50s, I feel deeply grateful for the many beautiful encounters life has brought me. Each day is filled with quiet joy and a sense of purpose that words can hardly express.
My greatest happiness to improve your state of well being through my work, and to walk alongside others on their journey toward inner harmony.
“In difficult times, I hope you’ll find the courage to take one small step forward without giving up.”
This is the heartfelt intention behind every session I offer, as I meet each person with care and sincerity.
Things I love:
• Visiting calm, cozy cafés
• I enjoy coffee, but I especially love tea black, herbal, and Chinese varieties
• Spending time with cats (though sadly, I don’t have one at home)
• Reading and watching content about holistic health and bodywork
• Traveling and just remembering the excitement of a trip sends my adrenaline soaring!

My Journey as a Therapist
At around age 40, years of poor eating habits and overexertion lead to a range of symptoms fatigue, numbness, tinnitus, heart palpitations, swelling, anxiety, and insomnia.
Medical tests revealed that I was at the onset of an autoimmune condition with a warning that daily life could become difficult within 10 years. The shock led me to withdraw from others and search for healing.
Determined to recover without relying on medication, I discovered natural therapy. After six months of dietary changes, my symptoms disappeared—so much so that even my doctor was astonished.
I learned that our bodies always strives to heal itself and that aligning with natures rhythms and nourishing ourselves can restore true vitality.
Later, I encountered Tui Na meridian massage therapy and felt my body transform. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to study it.
That experience became the foundation of who I am today.

Trusting the Body’s Power — My Journey from My 40s to Now
In my 40s, I often felt drained, irritable, and unmotivated.
Even time spent with my children or family outing felt joyless, and I found myself wondering, “Is this how I’ll continue feeling?”
Those days were filled with quiet worry and emotional fatigue.
Then I discovered dietary therapy and Tui Na (Chinese meridian massage), and little by little, I began to reclaim my original energy my Qi.
Now in my 50s, I live with a sense of joy and enthusiasm that would have felt almost miraculous to my former self.
But it wasn’t a miracle, it was the result of changing my constitution.
As my body transformed, so did my mindset. I came to understand that healing is possible when we support the body’s natural recovery response.
To anyone struggling with vague, persistent symptoms as I once did, Please don’t give up.
Your body is always trying to heal, even when you can’t feel it.
